European Champions Arsenal have two players in this year’s Top Six shortlist for PFA Players’ Player of the Year. Alessia Russo’s remarkable campaign in front of goal has been recognised by the membership. The striker ended the WSL season as joint top scorer with 12 goals.

Her teammate Mariona Caldentey has also secured a Top Six spot after a pivotal campaign in midfield for Arsenal. The Spanish international registered nine goals and five assists in the WSL and netted eight in the side’s winning Champions League campaign.

Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert features in the shortlist from unbeaten league champions Chelsea. The Blues’ midfield engine was consistent and instrumental for Sonia Bompastor’s history-making team and netted four during the WSL campaign.

Manchester City’s Mary Fowler makes the Top Six after recording six goals and seven assists in the league. She’s joined by City teammate and two-time PFA Team of the Year midfielder Yui Hasegawa, whose possession-winning style of play has been recognised.

The final Top Six nominee is WSL Golden Glove winner Phallon Tullis-Joyce who had a standout season for Manchester United. The American kept 13 clean sheets across 22 matches and conceded just 16 goals.
