TOP SIX | WOMEN'S PFA YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The Top Six shortlist for the 2024/25 Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year award has been chosen by PFA members. The winner will be honoured on 19 August at the 52nd annual PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester.

  • Aggie Beever-Jones, Chelsea
  • Grace Clinton, Manchester United
  • Maika Hamano, Chelsea
  • Mary Fowler, Manchester City
  • Olivia Smith, Liverpool
  • Weikie Kaptein, Chelsea

Unbeaten league champions Chelsea have three players in the running for the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year. Academy product Aggie Beever-Jones shone for the Blues, netting nine goals in a season that also earned her a EURO 2025 call-up for the Lionesses.

Her teammate Maiko Hamano also bags a nomination, recognised by the PFA membership for her consistency in the middle for the league winners. Dutch 19-year-old Weikie Kaptein deservingly completes Chelsea’s trio of Top Six nominees after a breakthrough campaign.

Last year’s PFA Young Player of the Year Grace Clinton is in the running once again after impressing all season in midfield for Manchester United. The Liverpudlian netted nine times in 22 appearances for the Reds, her best goalscoring season to date.

Manchester City’s Mary Fowler also picks up a nomination. Prior to suffering a mid-season injury, Fowler led an impressive individual campaign, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 17 WSL matches.

Liverpool’s top scorer Olivia Smith rounds up the Top Six shortlist. The 20-year-old Canadian made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Reds, netting nine goals – three of which were produced at Anfield.
