Players have voted for their standout performers from the League One 2023/24 campaign, with nominees set to be honoured on 20 August at this year’s PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester.
The Top Six shortlist for PFA League One Player of the Year includes two nominees from league winners Portsmouth. Colby Bishop’s 21-goal season has earned him a place in the shortlist, and Marlon Pack’s performance in the middle of the park has also secured him a nomination by fellow PFA members. The pair helped guide Pompey back to the Championship for the first time since 2012.
Peterborough United’s captain Harrison Burrows is shortlisted for the award after a dominant season wracking up 15 assists. His teammate Ephron Mason-Clark joins him in the Top Six after the striker bagged 19 goals in all competitions.
Charlton’s Alfie May is in the running for Player of the Year with 23 goals in 43 games over the season. The 31-year-old topped the league’s scoring chart, with fellow nominee Bishop two goals behind in second.
Finally, PFA members have voted Derby County’s Nathaniel Mendez-Laing into League One’s Top Six. A standout performance over the season sees him with 16 assists – the most in League One – and nine goals to his name.
