Stand-out performers from Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds among 11 players featured in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
Leif Davis features in the PFA Championship Team of the Year after helping Ipswich Town secure promotion to the Premier League in the 2023/24 season. The 24-year-old was instrumental for Ipswich, clocking 14 assists for his side.
League Champions Leicester returned to the Premier League at the first time of asking and have two players featured in the player-voted top 11. Jan Vestergaard was a rock in the heart of Enzo Maresca’s defence and conceded the fewest goals in the league. He’s joined by teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the Foxes’ talisman who scored 12 goals and set up another 14 over the 23/24 campaign.
Leeds United have four players in the PFA Championship Team of the Year. Goalkeeper Illan Meslier features after keeping 20 clean sheets, the most in the division. His teammate Ethan Ampadu also features after solid performances in defence and appearances in every league fixture over the 2023/24 season. He’s joined by 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray who appeared 52 times in all competitions for the Whites in his breakthrough season. Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville is the final Leeds representative in the Team of the Year after scoring 21 goals in all competitions for Daniel Farke’s side.
Play-off winners Southampton have two players named in the Team of the Year. Kyle Walker-Peters features in his fifth season on the south coast and he is joined by the Saints’ top scorer Adam Armstrong who netted 24 goals.
Championship top scorer Sammie Szmodics also features in the top 11 after a fantastic year and 27 goals which helped keep Blackburn Rovers in the division. Norwich City’s Gabriel Sara completes the team, earning his spot from the PFA membership after contributing 25 goal contributions including 13 goals.
