Crysencio Summerville has been voted PFA Championship Player of the Year after a superb 2023/24 campaign.
Summerville was the foundation of Leeds United’s charge towards the play-offs. The 22-year-old was a thorn in the side of opposing defenders throughout the season, scoring 19 goals in the regular campaign before netting another in the play-off semi-finals in a 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City at Elland Road.
Summerville also contributed nine assists for Daniel Farke’s side, catching the eye of teams across the continent. The Netherlands under-21 international earned a summer move to West Ham United following his outstanding campaign.
Summerville claimed the award, edging out Leeds teammate Georginio Rutter as well as Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Blackburn Rovers’ Sammie Szmodics, Southampton’s Adam Armstrong and Ipswich Town’s Leif Davis, who were all included in the Top Six shortlist.
