As his time in charge comes to an end, everyone at the PFA wants to thank Gareth Southgate for his eight years of service as England men’s manager.
Personally and professionally, Gareth has been a brilliant ambassador for our game as both a player and a manager. Since 2016 he has overseen a period of unrivalled achievement by the men’s national team and, just as importantly, he has forged a real connection between the country, the supporters and the players. These are successes he should be extremely proud of.
Gareth has also been a fantastic supporter of the PFA, with a genuine interest in the work of the union and an active personal commitment to the support and wellbeing of players, both on and off the pitch.
Everyone at the PFA sincerely wishes Gareth all the very best in his next steps.
