The PFA has announced the winners of December’s Fans’ Player of the Month competition.
Trent Alexander-Arnold wins the award in the Premier League competition, edging out strong opposition from the likes of on-form Dominic Solanke and Cole Palmer. The 25-year-old scored the winner in a 4-3 victory for Liverpool against Fulham and also contributed two assists over the course of December. Alexander-Arnold was also part of a defensive effort that kept three clean sheets for the Reds.
Leicester’s Patson Daka is the Championship’s winner. The Zambian forward made the most of his recall into the Leicester line-up, hitting the ground running in December with four goals and two assists. Daka notched a brace in a 3-0 win over Rotherham to cap a successful month in front of goal.
Derby County won four out of five in December and the League One Fans’ Player of the Month Eiran Cashin was at the heart of their run. The 22-year-old scored an 86th-minute winner and provided an assist in the Rams’ victory over Oxford United that could have huge ramifications in the promotion race. It landed him one of the two man of the match awards he secured during the month.
AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi wins his second PFA Fans’ League Two Player of the Month award in a row after another string of excellent performances. The 21-year-old scored seven goals in all competitions for AFC Wimbledon over the course of December. He notched braces in wins over Swindon in the league and Ramsgate in the FA Cup.
