The PFA has today announced a new two-year partnership with Vertu Motors, who will sponsor the PFA Vertu Motors Fans Player of the Month Award across the next two seasons – with the shortlists for September’s winners to be announced tomorrow.
A specially selected panel of former players including Fabrice Muamba, Dom Matteo, Karen Carney, Sue Smith, Faye White, Sam Parkin and Don Goodman are among the names to have selected players this month.
They and a number of other former players will decide the six nominations each month across the Premier League, the EFL Championship, League One and League Two as well as the The Barclays FA WSL. Fans will then vote to decide who is named the PFA Vertu Motors Fans Player of the Month.
A new custom designed trophy has also been made for this season by Mappin and Webb – the same designers of the iconic PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the year trophy – each player will receive the trophy at a presentation each month.
