England Women’s football team have donated to the #PlayersTogether intiative, a collective project set up by Premier League players to support and help generate funds for the NHS.
The initiative was set up to provide support for those working on the NHS frontline during the coronavirus pandemic. The fund aims to help generate funds which can they be distributed quickly to where it is needed most.
The Lionesses captain Steph Houghton led off the announcements on the players personal social media accounts, to confirm the team would be donating to the fund.
“After discussions with a number of Premier League Players, we are delighted to confirm that the whole of the Lionesses squad will make a collective donation to the #PlayersTogether fund.”
The player-led initiative have partnered with NHS Charities Together “to try and help, along with so many others in the country, make a real difference.”
