As we approach the close of yet another incredible season, the PFA is pleased to announce that for the first time, the PFA Awards ceremony will be held outside London, at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on April 26th.
This will be the 47th PFA Awards ceremony, an annual opportunity for the entire industry to come together to celebrate the best of English football. The event is a real chance to champion outstanding performers in all 5 professional divisions, and awards include Players’ Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Team of the Year and the PFA’s Merit Award.
PFA Chief Executive, Gordon Taylor OBE embraced this venue change, saying, “The PFA Awards is one of the biggest nights in football’s social calendar, and for the winners, there can be no greater personal honour than being recognised by your peers. After 25 years of holding the event at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, we thought this year would be a great opportunity to pay tribute to the original home of the PFA and bring the Awards to the North West.”
The current holders of the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award are Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema. Previous winners of the prestigious PFA Players’ Player of the Year award have included Kim Little, Mohamed Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lucy Bronze.
