Pontus Jansson has been voted the December PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month by football fans across the country. In a vote the Leeds defender won with 32% of the vote, beating Whites colleague Pablo Hernandez, who finished in second place with 28%.
In the second of four divisional votes carried out over seven days it was clear that the Swede’s strong performances last month – in which he scored a decisive goal at Aston Villa - has resonated not just with Leeds fans, but with supporters up and down the country.
The full list of contenders from the final shortlist polled were as follows:
- Pontus Jansson (Leeds) - 32%
- Pablo Hernandez (Leeds) – 28%
- Jarrod Bowen (Hull City) – 16%
- Teemu Pukki (Norwich) - 12%
- Tammy Abraham (Aston Villa) - 7%
- Marco Stiepermann (Norwich) - 5%
