The PFA is deeply saddened by the passing of former Leeds United and England defender Paul Madeley, aged 73.
During an 18-year playing career at Leeds United, Paul made 727 appearances.
He won two First Division titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup with his boyhood club.
Known for his versatility, Paul played in every position except goalkeeper.
He also played 24 times for England during the 1970s.

PFA chief-executive Gordon Taylor OBE fondly remembers playing in the same England Schoolboys trial game as Paul in 1960 along with Graham Taylor, David Pleat, Barry Fry, Tommy Smith, Frank Casper, Dennis Thwaites and Len Badger, who all went on to greater success.
PFA Chief Executive, Gordon Taylor paid tribute to ‘a class act’: “The thoughts of everyone at the PFA are with the family and friends of Paul Madeley.
“A Leeds legend, an authoritative figure who could play any position with distinction, calmness and cool - a class act!
“He will be sadly missed but always remembered.”
The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the PFA are with Paul’s family and friends.
