Terry Angus explains how the PFA and the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation work closely to change the lives of young people in a positive way around Manchester.
The DMSF foundation was founded and is ran by international athlete and one of Britain’s most successful 800m runners, Diane Modahl, who is due to receive her MBE this month.
DMSF champions young people from disadvantaged areas across the North West, enabling them to make the most of themselves in sport, education and employability.
The foundation helps young people to develop ways of focused thinking, develop self-belief, self-assurance, social integration and promote aspiration. DMSF believes that through developing these qualities in young people, there will also be a development in resilience, focus and commitment, which will lead to a boost in pupils’ academic attainment and employability skills.
