The PFA hosted an informal networking event for LGBT Practitioners in Football as part of LGBT History Month celebrations.
LGBT Fans groups, campaigners, creatives and football club representatives came together to share best practise and look at how far the game has come working towards LGBT inclusion.
Hosted at the PFA’s London offices, the event was attended by representatives from Proud Lilywhites, Gay Gooners, Canal Street Blues, Football vs Homophobia, Pride in Football, Just A Ball Game, Stonewall, Tonebridge Angels, Charlton Community Trust, CACT Invicta FC and the Football Supporters Federation.
Simone Pound PFA Head of Equalities and Diversity said: “I wanted to bring people together to recognise the contributions that have been made within the game and to highlight that we are united in working together towards the same goal.
“The PFA have been a massive part of the LGBT in football movement and have created a timeline demonstrating how far we’ve come.
“As a sport, football is working hard towards LGBT inclusion within the game and I’m grateful for the contribution of everyone who attended. It was a great day!”
