The race is part of the triple crown of motorsports, which comprises three of the biggest events in the motorsports calendar. The event is contested as part of the Verizon Indy Car series, the top level of American Championship Car racing. The city of Indianapolis is considered to be the racing capital of the world, and petrol heads flock here every year to witness this great event, a race certainly not to be missed!
