A Tottenham Hostpur fan was arrested for throwing a banana skin onto the pitch at the Emirates Stadium.
The incident occurred as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang celebrated during the Gunners 4-2 derby win.
PFA Head of Equalities, Simone Pound commented: “Football has worked hard to eradicate all forms of discrimination from the stadium and the PFA has been at the forefront of this work.
“To see a banana skin amongst other objects thrown onto the pitch is a real concern. There is no place for racism in football.”
A Tottenham spokesman said: "Behaviour such as this is completely unacceptable and the supporter in question will be issued with a ban."
This morning the Gabon striker took to Instagram, posting a picture of the incident with the message '#whysmandoingthis?'.
