The PFA is sincerely saddened by the passing of former Manchester City captain Barrie Betts, aged 86.
Betts, born in Barnsley began his career as a defender with his hometown club.
In 1957 he moved to Stockport County where he went on to make 112 appearances.
He was signed by Manchester City in 1960, playing for the blues over 100 times in four years. He also captained the side.
