PFA Men's Players' Player of the Year nominee: Eden Hazard (Chelsea FC).
Described as a ‘fearless, explosive attacking midfielder who can change the game with a turn of pace or a dribble’, Eden Hazard has been leading Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League defenders a merry dance this season.
The 23-year-old Belgian has been a virtual ever-present for the Blues this season and, in addition to producing a succession of mesmerising performances, has been the club’s most potent goalscoring asset with his tally for the season already in double figures.
A number of his strikes have been breathtaking contenders for goal of the season and he was at his sublime best in claiming his first hat-trick in English football against Newcastle in February, securing a win which propelled Chelsea to the top of the table.
He says he will continue to work hard to live up to the claims of the Special One that he is ‘one of the best players in the world’.
“He calls me the best player of my generation and it is a huge compliment. I try to be my best. With periods I can be the best of my generation, but there will be periods when others will be.
"I still have some work to do, I have to score more goals, have to give more key passes and do what I’m doing now, but then twice as much”, said the level-headed Belgian international.
