The PFA is run by the players, for the players, and if you are a current player in the Premier League, EFL or Women’s Super League, you can get involved in your union and play a key role in steering the PFA’s work on behalf of your fellow professionals.
If you are committed to improving, promoting and protecting the rights of players, this is your chance to make a real difference.

PFA PLAYERS’ BOARD ELECTIONS: Q&A
What is the PFA Players’ Board?
The PFA Players’ Board is elected by PFA members every three years, with ten current players – two from the Premier League, two from the WSL and two from each division of the EFL – chosen to act as the ‘voice of the PFA membership’.
The Players’ Board works closely with the CEO and PFA staff on a wide range of the union’s work, from shaping our overall strategy to leading on individual projects to help players.
Who can stand for election to the PFA Players’ Board?
All currently contracted players with clubs in the Premier League, EFL and WSL can stand for election to the Players’ Board.
How do I put my name forward?
You can apply to stand for election to the PFA Players’ Board by visiting www.cesvotes.com/pfa2024
Applications can be submitted from Monday 12th August to Monday 2nd September.
What will I need to do?
It’s easy to apply to stand for election to the PFA Players’ Board. When you begin your application you will be asked to provide details of your career and to explain why other players should vote for you as their representative.
This is an opportunity for you to explain why you would like to take on the role. It’s also your chance to highlight the experiences and responsibilities you have had in the game which you believe will help you be an effective member of the PFA Players’ Board.
You will also be asked to provide the names and contact details of three other current PFA members who will support your application.
What will happen after the application process has closed on 2nd September?
All eligible applications will be assigned to the leagues/division the candidate plays in (Premier League, WSL, EFL Championship, EFL League One, EFL League Two). If necessary, applications will be shortlisted by the PFA’s independent nominations committee.
The PFA Players’ Board election will then open in mid-September, with every PFA member sent details of all the candidates and their reasons for wanting to be part of the PFA Players’ Board.
Each member will then be able to vote for two candidates from each league/division, with voting closing in mid-October.
The ten candidates chosen (the two candidates with the largest number of votes from each league/division) will then join the PFA Players’ Board.
