The PFA is saddened by news that former Bolton Wanderers cup winner Bryan Edwards has passed away, aged 85.
Edwards joined Bolton in 1947 and made 483 league appearances for the club, before retiring in 1965, aged 35.
He is a member of the FA Cup winning squad who beat Manchester United 2-0 in 1958.
Edwards was also a talented cricketer and had trials with Yorkshire CCC before signing for Bolton.
Chief Executive of the Professional Footballers’ Association Gordon Taylor said: "Bryan was lovely, kind man and very skillful footballer, I was privileged to play alongside him and to know him. He will be sadly missed but always remembered."
All at the PFA would like to offer our sincere condolences to Bryan's family and friends.
