The PFA is saddened by news that former Derry City player Mark Farren has passed away, aged 33.
Born in Donegal, Farren spent his youth career with Tranmere Rovers and Huddersfield Town.
He played for Derry City between 2003 to 2012, scoring 113 goals in 209 appearances for the club.
Farren was voted player of the year by the Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland in 2005.
He had been receiving treatment for an aggressive brain tumour.
