The PFA is saddened by news that former Liverpool midfielder Brian Hall has passed away at the age of 68 after suffering from leukemia.
Hall, who was born in Glasgow played 224 games for Liverpool between 1969-76 and scored 21 goals.
Playing under Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, Brian won two league titles, two UEFA Cups and the FA Cup. He scored the winning goal in the 1971 FA Cup semi-final against Everton at Old Trafford.
Hall was also a university graduate having moved to Liverpool as a teenager to study for a degree in mathematics.
After leaving Liverpool in 1976 Hall enjoyed a brief spell at Plymouth Argyle before spending three years at Burnley until his retirement in 1980.
He later served as a Football in the Community Officer at Liverpool FC.
