PETER SCHMEICHEL
Arguably the greatest goalkeeper in the history of the Man United and one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s best ever signings. Whenever there is a vote for the Premier Leagues best all time goalkeepers, he always comes out top. He kept goal for United for 8 years winning many trophies. Peter has the best clean sheets to games ratio in the history of the Premier League with 42%. His last act as a United player was to lift the UEFA Champions League Trophy to complete the Treble in 1999.
PETER REID
After a very successful spell at Everton, Peter moved to City in 1990 to begin his managerial career. He spent 3 years at Maine Rd guiding them to two 5th place finishes, the first of which was above United. He made 109 league appearances for City as Player-Manager before moving on in 1993.
ANDY MORRISON
Andy signed for the blue half of Manchester in 1998. He was appointed captain and led them out of the abyss of the 3rdtier of English football by winning the playoff final against Gillingham. A tough tackling defender he is loved by City fans and one of the key players in helping city climb back to the Premier League in 2002.
The first Derby of the season ended in a thrilling 3-2 victory for United in City’s back yard with a last minute goal and this year they will be looking for further revenge at Old Trafford for the 6-1 hammering last years by City.
