Today, the initial findings of FIELD, a medical study into ‘Football’s InfluencE on Lifelong outcomes and Dementia risk’ – funded by the PFA Charity and The FA - were released.

Co-funded PFA and FA study has found that among their sample group, footballers developed neurodegenerative conditions – such as dementia – at three and a half times the rate of the control group.

John Aston Snr will have a plaque unveiled in his honour on behalf of the PFA next week to commemorate his achievements in the game.
