Men's PFA Young Player of the Year: Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard has been named the PFA Men’s Young Player of the Year 2014.
With the strength of the shortlist for the Young Player award it could quite easily have been mistaken for the Players’ Player shortlist.
With that in mind Hazard has beaten off a host of extremely talented footballers to claim the 2014 award.
The Belgian has had a spectacular season under returning manager Jose Mourinho. The ‘Special One’ has got the best out of the 23 year old in what is only his second season in English football.
He has been an ever present in the Chelsea side, when fit, and has been a pivotal cog in the Chelsea machine that is attempting to win back the Barclays Premier League title.
With 13 goals from a player that doesn’t play as an out an out striker it is easy to understand how fellow PFA members would see Hazard as the outstanding candidate in a shortlist full of quality players.
Hazard’s manager Mourinho has also spoken of the change in mentality of Hazard and his ability and willingness to help out the team defensively.
Hazard follows in the footsteps of some truly great players that have picked up the PFA Men’s Young Player of the Year award in the past.
