How and when it started

In July 2011, the Premier League and PFA worked with Club Captains and PFA Delegates to create a collective programme involving all Premier League players.

How it works

Squad players at each Club pledged to donate £25,000 per squad to the scheme, creating a total pot of £500,000.

How the money is spent

Twenty squads of 25 players provide a total fund of £500,000, all of which is allocated to the purchase (at cost price) of kit and equipment for the scheme.
