Philip Baylis – Commercial Executive.
Having joined Crewe Alexandra as a 9 Year old, Phil progressed through the Youth and Reserve Teams until being released at the age of 20 after having completed his Scholarship.
After being released by Crewe, Phil joined the PFA on a full time basis working in the Education Department and continued to play in non-league football. He then progressed into the IT Department before moving to his current role as an Executive in the Commercial Department.
Since joining the PFA in 2001, Phil has worked full-time but he also studied part time at university. This culminated in Phil attaining a Degree in BA (Hons) Business Studies followed by a Masters Degree in MSc Finance and Business. Continuing his studies in the finance stream, Phil also undertook the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification, which he completed to become a Chartered Management Accountant in March 2013.
As Commercial Executive, Phil works with a number of commercial partners with particular focus on the sportswear partnership between the PFA and Pro-Direct Soccer. This also involves liaising with players and teams at all levels of the game from Professional, Semi-Professional, College, School and Sunday teams to Junior football teams. Phil was also involved in helping to facilitate the Junior Kit Scheme which, as a joint initiative with the Premier League, provided kits to less privileged children and teams across the country.
