Barclays has a long history in football most famously through its sponsorship of the Barclays Premier League but also through its sponsorship of the League Managers Association, the Football Writers’ Association and, of course, the Professional Footballers Association.
The sponsorship of the PFA allows us to support one of the biggest nights of the football calendar, the PFA Awards, when the best player and young player of the season are chosen by their peers.
We are also committed to making a real and lasting contribution to all levels of football in this country. Through our grass roots scheme, Barclays Spaces for Sports, we have invested in over 200 community sports sites around the UK.
Outside of sponsorship, Barclays has a strong heritage within football dating back over 100 years as bankers to the Football Association. We are also the official bank of the Premier League as well as bankers to over 50% of the clubs and 33% of their players. Barclays sponsored the Football League from 1987 to 1992 and have been official sponsors of the Premier League since 2001. We also provide specialist wealth management and banking services to professional footballers. More information on this can be obtained by contacting Paul de la Salle at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him on +44 20 3134 3136.
The role of the PFA Coaching Department is to prepare its members for a secondary career within the professional game, possibly within coaching or management.
PFA members can get access to exclusive offers on cars, travel, golf equipment, event tickets, audio visual equipment plus much more!
