PFA shortlisted at 2024 Football Business Awards

In recognition of the union’s work over the past year, the PFA has been shortlisted as a finalist in five categories at this year’s Football Business Awards. Those categories are:

Best Digital & Social Media Team

In recognition of our work marking the 50th anniversary of the PFA Awards last year, we are shortlisted in the Best Digital and Social Media Team category. Our prolonged, multi-channel social media campaign connected past winners with today’s brightest talents, and was anchored around a distinctive PFA50 branding concept.

Best Professional Services Business Serving Football

Our PFA Business School is shortlisted in the Best Professional Services category. Launched last year, the Business School offers current and former members bespoke university accredited courses across a range of football-related subjects. Courses are designed to train future professionals from across the world in the most technical aspects of football leadership and management.

Women’s Football Business

See It. Achieve It., our women’s football initiative which looks to address the lack of diversity across the women’s professional game, is in the running for the Women’s Football Business Award. The scheme leverages the power and influence of diverse role models from across the WSL with in-person community events and a one-to-one mentorship scheme.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion - Non-Premier League

The PFA’s Asian Inclusion Mentoring Scheme (AIMS) has also been nominated for an award in the EDI – Non-Premier League category. The AIMS scheme is leading the way in driving representation among South Asian players in football, and since its launch in 2020 the initiative has grown an impactful network from the academy system through to the Premier League.

Football Technology

The digital modernisation of the PFA has also been recognised in the Football Technology category. The PFA has developed a modern and powerful technology stack which has formed the foundation of a sweeping digital transformation. This work has ensured the PFA, a centenary organisation, is able to keep pace with the evolving technological landscape.

The Football Business Awards winners will be announced on 24th May 2024 in London.
