October PFA WSL Fans' Player of the Month

The race for PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for October is wide open after all six nominees put in excellent performances across the month in the Women’s Super League.

Tottenham’s Martha Thomas enjoyed a fine start to her career with Spurs following her move from Manchester United, pressing her case for the award.

Thomas notched six goals in just four appearances to soar to the top of the scoring charts, including a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 4-2 away win over Aston Villa.

Brighton’s Elisabeth Terlard was also in the goals during October. The Norway international scored four times, including her match-winning brace in the opening game of the Seagulls’ WSL campaign against Everton.

Chelsea have once again had a strong start to the term and lead the way at the top of the WSL standings. Niamh Charles has been one of their standout players in the early stages of the term, providing three assists in four games and helping keep one clean sheet.

Arsenal are narrowly off the pace of Chelsea, and Katie McCabe’s impact has allowed her to push her credentials for the player of the month prize. She notched three goals, notably scoring twice in a 2-1 win over Bristol City.

New Leicester signing Lena Petermann hit the ground running following her transfer from Montpellier. The Germany international bagged two goals in her first two games for the Foxes as well as an assist, making her presence felt in the WSL.

Manchester City have the stoutest defence in the league, and keeper Khiara Keating’s form was decisive in guiding her team to a fine start. The 19-year-old kept three clean sheets and conceded once in October.

All the nominees have great credentials, and now it’s up to the fans to decide who will claim October’s award.
