October PFA League Two Fans' Player of the Month

Stockport County won six games on the bounce in October and two of their star men are in the running for the League Two Fan’s Player of the Month award.

The Hatters moved to the summit of the fourth tier with a brilliant run of form during October sweeping away all opponents before them.

Forward Isaac Olofe was a model of consistency during their winning streak. The 23-year-old scored in five matches, finding the net in three-straight games at the end of the month. He also bagged an assist to press his case to win the award.

But, his team-mate Fraser Horsfall was equally important at the other end of the pitch, keeping Stockport watertight at the back. The 26-year-old didn’t miss a minute of action at the heart of a defence that kept four clean sheets over the course of the month.

Outside of Edgeley Park, the chasing pack of teams also have players that enjoyed impressive form in October in their bid to claim the award.

Macaulay Langstaff continued to prove that the move up to the Football League has not diminished his prowess in front of goal. He notched four goals in six games for Notts County to keep the club on the promotion trail for a second-straight season.

Likewise Elliot Lee was equally effective for Wrexham, scoring in three-straight matches as the Welsh outfit moved into the top three in League Two. Mansfield are also keeping pace at the top aided by the creativity of Davis Keillor-Dunn, who notched four assists in October.

Salford City were grateful for Matt Smith’s brilliance in the final third as he scored seven, including a hat-trick in a win over Doncaster Rovers and two braces against Wrexham and Crewe Alexandra.
