PFA Partners Networking Lunch

The Professional Footballers’ Association's Partners Networking Lunch will be an unique opportunity to network with partners and friends of the union. 

The event at  London St Pancras Hotel will provide a friendly and informative environment and a chance to hear from 4 very special guests who have all made telling contributions to the modern game.

  • 10.00am – Guests will be invited to arrive to network in the small exhibition area with friends and partners of the Professional Footballers’ Association
  • Midday – A three-course lunch will be served for all attendees
  • 1.30pm –Q&A session on the subject of ‘The Business with Football’ with:

Gordon Taylor OBE

Gordon is the Chief Executive of the Professional Footballers’ Association, a position he has held for over 30 years.  A former winger for Bolton, Birmingham and Blackburn, Gordon also plied his trade in the North American Soccer League for the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Awarded the OBE in 2008 for his services to the national game, Gordon is also Honorary President of the international association of players’ unions, Fifpro and remains one of the most respected figures in world football.

Theo Paphitis

Known most recently for his seat on popular BBC series Dragons Den, Theo was Chairman of Millwall FC for eight years guiding the club out of administration and into the Championship, the FA Cup Final and on into Europe.

Theo now heads up a formidable group of High Street brands including Ryman, Boux Avenue and Robert Dyas, serving over 28 million customers each year from almost 350 stores and employing 3,600 staff.

Kate Hoey MP

Kate is Labour MP for Vauxhall South London, a position she has held since the by-election in 1989.  A very keen follower of all sports, Kate was appointed as the UK’s first female Minister for Sport in 1999, a position she held until the General Election in 2001.

Former Northern Ireland high jump champion Kate has since worked as Educational Advisor to a number of top London football clubs and is also an honorary vice-president of Surrey County Cricket Club.

Clarke Carlisle

Clarke is the current Chairman of the Professional Footballers’ Association and defender for League Two side Northampton Town FC.  In a career spanning over 15 years, Clarke has a breadth of football knowledge gained whilst playing across all four division of the English game.

Clarke holds a degree in Professional Sports Writing and Broadcasting, is a well-respected television pundit and an ambassador for anti-racism and equality organisations.  He is also the only footballer to have appeared on Question Time and Countdown.
