The PFA is pleased to announce the launch of National Counsellors Support Network for Professional Footballers on Wednesday, 27th February 2013 at the House of Commons.

The PFA has coordinated a network of counsellors who can offer support to any player who requires assistance with issues such as depression, addiction and anxiety.  This is a development of the existing support structures in place for players and in addition to the work of the Sporting Chance Clinic which was founded by Tony Adams and supported by the PFA.

Whilst the Sporting Chance Clinic offers a residential facility for any player who approaches the PFA for support with addiction issues, there has been an increased awareness in the benefit of counselling players through issues including stress, depression and anxiety.

Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Health Secretary, will be attending on the day as a special guest.
